Kapp’s stellar performance saw her take 3 wickets for just 8 runs in her spell and also score an unbeaten 26 runs to guide her team to victory. Reflecting on her all-round display, Kapp humbly said, “I’m just happy to get over the line today. I’ve been in that situation a lot of times for all the franchises I’ve played for around the world, so it helps a lot. I can’t think about [the eliminator] at the moment: today was too stressful. But I’m happy to go through.”
The chase for the Invincibles started positively, with Chamari Athapaththu hitting three early boundaries before being dismissed for 16. Despite a few quick wickets, the team remained steady in their approach, with Paige Scholfield playing a crucial role with the bat.
As the required run rate mounted, Kapp launched a counter-attack with some well-timed boundaries, relieving the pressure on the chasing team. Scholfield’s contribution with the bat was also vital as she played some aggressive shots to bring the equation down to 22 runs required from 30 balls.
